I woke up in Cleveland in time for my screen kiss Or is this the local news? Lower the boom stand, cut to the Earthcam Are we the last left alive? Oh no! Oh no! I feel it coming on Oh no! Oh no! Another goodbye song You left looking for something came back with nothing Baby, maybe even less I whipped out my notepad You told me, Don't dare turn this into a song Oh no! Oh no! I feel it coming on Oh no! Oh no! Another goodbye song Please wake me when it's over Left a note but don't wanna die Sorta Oh no! Oh no! I feel it coming on Oh no! Oh no! Another goodbye song

You'll never feel that good again Till you've saved up enough sadness Can't keep drinking like that Won't make your memory cleansed I wish I knew how your life works But all I see are failures And I don't like it like that Not as much as you do I wish I could wish you happiness I wish I could smile but I can't pretend I wish I could say you deserve the best But I'm here to watch you lose At least a little bit Just to prove what I'm worth The usual mysterious circumstance surrounds the way your feelings died Can I get a witness? It's amazing how our love combines With the poison and the fear in our lives And turns into hate What a wonderful world I wish I could wish you happiness I wish I could smile but I can't pretend I wish I could say you deserve the best But I'm here to watch you lose At least a little bit Just to prove what I'm worth I know it's not the healthy thing I remember when that mattered But these feelings I hide They don't follow logic I wish I could wish you happiness I wish I could smile but I can't pretend I wish I could say you deserve the best But I'm here to watch you lose At least a little bit Just to prove what I'm worth Burn a little bit Just to prove what I'm worth Die a little bit Just to prove what I'm worth You'll never feel that good again

about

"Oh no! I feel it coming on..."

As the apocalypse approached, with war imminent despite the deafening cry of dissent mouthed by millions in the streets, Robert Cherry did the only thing a poor boy could do—sing for a rock ‘n’ roll band.

He assembled a guerilla unit of friends and took to the studio to vent, dressing his dark musings in the bright trousers of Visconti-prime Bowie and Bolan.

He envisioned a dystopian society and wrote “Oh No (Another Goodbye Song).”

He diagnosed the co-dependent and self-obsessed and penned “Spite Makes Right.”

He set the amps to “bludgeon" and channeled Lady Stardust's “Children Of The Revolution."

And somehow, it all felt so right, despite all the wrong.

At least for a while.

The apocalypse entered like a lamb. War continued apace, ever escalating. The medium of the message wrapped its tentacles around deadened hearts and benumbed minds.

But the children. Oh, the children. They could not be fooled. Not again. No.

TO BE PLAYED AT MAXIMUM VOLUME.
